How to Watch on Your TV
You can also watch on your computer, phone or tablet by visiting the homepage or DESC Facebook page and click the “live” tab (facebook.com/DESCjax)
Chromecast
Use a Google Chromecast with a PC
You will need:
- Google Chromecast plugged into TV and connected to your network
- Computer using Google Chrome browser
How to:
- On your computer, click the link in your email for the Facebook Live performance
- Click the menu item at the top right and select Cast (see image below)
- Select your Chromecast device and it should start casting
Use a Google Chromecast with a Mobile Device
You will need:
- Google Chromecast plugged into TV and connected to your network
How to:
- On your phone, click the link in your email for the Facebook Live performance
- When the Facebook live starts to play, click the cast icon in the top-right
- Select your Chromecast device and it should start casting
Airplay
Use an Apple TV With a Mac Computer
You will need:
- Apple TV connected to your TV and network
- An Apple computer
How to:
- Make sure your TV is set to your Apple TV input
- On your computer, click the Airplay icon and select your device name
- Your computer should be mirroring to your TV
- On your computer, click the link in your email for the Facebook Live performance
Use an Apple TV With an iPad or iPhone
You will need:
- Apple TV connected to your TV and network
- An Apple iPhone or iPad with Facebook installed
How to:
- Make sure your TV is set to your Apple TV input
- On your iPad, click the link for the performance in your email to open it in Facebook
- Once it loads, click the cast button in the top-right
- Select “Apple TV or Bluetooth Devices” and then your TV or Apple TV device name
- You may have to type the code from the TV
- The video will show and you can use your iPad to send comments and likes
Directly on Your TV
HDMI Cable
You will need:
- HDMI Cable
- HDMI Plug on your computer
(some Mac computers will need an HDMI adapter) - HDMI Plug on your TV
How to:
- Plug one end of the HDMI cable into your computer port and the other into one of your TV ports
- Make sure your TV is set to the right HDMI input
- The TV should mirror your computer screen
- On your computer, click the link in your email for the Facebook Live performance (facebook.com/DESCjax)
Facebook Watch
Facebook Watch on Your TV:
- Go to your apps or the app store on your TV
- Search for the “Facebook Watch” app
- Click the Facebook Watch app and download it
- Once it is done installing, open it
- Select “Log In With Facebook”
- Go to www.facebook.com/device on your computer and enter the code on the screen
- It will ask you to confirm
For the live performance, you will need:
- TV or Amazon Fire Stick connected to your TV and network
- Be a follower of the DESC Facebook Page
- The Facebook Watch app installed on your Apple TV and logged in
How to:
- Turn on your TV and select the Facebook Watch App
- When it opens, you should see “Live Videos from Pages You Follow”
- DESC’s video should be listed there
Youtube
Opening Youtube on Your TV
- Open the Youtube app on your TVClick the Facebook Watch app and download it
- If it’s not installed, go to your TV app store and install it
- Once it is done installing, open it
How to:
- Turn on your TV and select the Youtube App
- When it opens, search for “Downtown Ecumenical Services Council”
- You should see the “Downtown Ecumenical Services Council” channel
- Click on the channel and the video will be listed there
