It started as a fun idea for a fundraiser: create superheroes to represent the caring sponsors, volunteers and staff that have kept DESC running for more than 40 years. Since then it has grown into one of the largest fundraisers in the region. This is thanks to the magnanimous efforts of our committee members, chairs, volunteers and staff to put on an event that blends a positive social environment with meaningful explorations into such a meaningful topic: serving those living with chronic poverty in Jacksonville.
Over the years, our event has had a plethora of interactive components, from VR tours, to time machines experiences, to being one of the first virtual events in our areas during COVID-19. The event has often been called the “most fun event of the year.”

What to wear: Smart Casual (relaxed styles with no ties)
Parking: There is plenty of free parking (with handicapped spaces) at WJCT. Just look for our directional signs on the street to be directed to the correct area.
Entrance: Use the main door to the studios and get ready for fun. Volunteers will direct you to the festivities.
Tickets: There’s no need to worry about a paper or electronic ticket. We already have your name on our registration list. Just let us know when you arrive.
Activities: There will be a Fund-A-Need “auction,” along with an inspiring program and interactive activties.
